Traceability Management with Impact Analysis in DevOps based Software Development

The application of DevOps principles in the software development environments is of increasing trend. With the frequent changes of software artefacts in a DevOps environment, managing artefact consistently throughout the software development is challenging. Therefore, traceability maintenance to cope with the continuous artefact changes is essential for successful software project management. This paper presents an extension to our software artefact traceability analyzer tool, SAT-Analyser V.1, that establishes traceability between artefacts from the requirement gathering phase to testing phase in the software development lifecycle. We have used centrality measures in network analysis to validate the node-link connectivity in the traceability visualization graph. Further, we propose a change impact analysis model for the continuous integration of artefact changes in a DevOps environment.
